Biography
Dr. Amoroso serves as a Professor and Department Chair of the CSIS Department and Executive Director of ICIT. Prior to this he served as Department Chair at Appalachian State University and the Executive Director of CARET (Center for Applied Research in Emerging Technologies). He teaches classes in the executive and graduate programs on technology management, strategy formulation, and innovation of technology for commercialization. He served as Associate Professor and Coordinator of Information & Decision Sciences at San Diego State University. He has also worked with GE Capital as a Director of Enterprise Solutions and with Solista/Gartner Group as a consulting partner from 1997-2000. In addition, he managed the Information Systems department while at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs from 1988-1997.Dr. Amoroso has been Director of the Pacific Research Institute for Information Management and Systems (PRIISM) with the goal to disseminate information technology findings in Asian-based organizations. He has been mini-track chair for the Hawaii International Conference on Systems Sciences from 1992 to present and is track chair for the current AMCIS Conference on social issues in information systems. He was inducted into the Who's Who Worldwide in 1995 for contributions to international organizations changing the distribution of technology information within the Pacific Rim.
Education
Dr. Amoroso completed his PhD in Information Systems at the University of Georgia, after completing an undergraduate degree in finance followed by an MBA.
